The Academic Senate of Masaryk University, in accordance with Article 47 paragraph 3 of Masaryk University Statute, discussed and took in the account the draft wording of Masaryk University Directive "Budgeting Rules for the Calendar Year 2018".
The Academic Senate of Masaryk University, in accordance with Article 4 (5) of Annex 3 to Masaryk University Statute, discussed and took into account the Summary Report on the Activities and Economic Activities of Legal Entities in which Masaryk University has ownership interest, for the year 2016.
The Academic Senate of Masaryk University, in accordance with Section 34, paragraph 5 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., On Higher Education Institutions and Amending Certain Acts, as amended, gives the Director of MU Institute of Computer Science a previous approval to appoint members of the Scientific Council of MU Institute of Computer Science according to the list, that constitutes an Annex of the Minutes of the meeting.
The Academic Senate of Masaryk University takes into account the resignation of a member of the Economic Committee of the AS MU Mgr. Petr Najvar, Ph.D. and elected Mgr. Kateřina Lojdová, Ph.D. a member of the Economic Committee of the AS MU.
The Academic Senate of Masaryk University (both the Academic Staff Chamber and the Student Chamber) as the supreme representative body of the academic community of Masaryk University expresses its disagreement with the election of the deputy JUDr. PhDr. Zdeněk Ondráček, Ph.D., a Chairman of the Permanent Commission for the Control of the General Inspectorate of Security Forces (GIBS) of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. We do not want to engage in ordinary political debates, but here we feel that it is more. The recent election of Zdeněk Ondráček to the position of the Chairman of the Commission controlling the GIBS brings about the relativisation and rehabilitation of the criminal communist past. As representatives of Masaryk University we are offended by the fact that a person who participated in the repressions, among others, against young people and students in 1989 became a Chairman of this Commission even without expressing any regret concerning this participation. We therefore support a protest action against election of Zdeněk Ondráček that takes place at Svoboda Square in Brno on March 5, 2018.
